A fresh-faced Marine proves to use that it truly is the nice guys that finish last.
While in the J.D. Memorial run race in Michigan a soldier stopped running to help a young boy complete the competition. The soldier put his own goals aside to help the small boy reach the finish line. He was Myles Kerr.
When looking at the results for the race you can see that the soldier ended up in last place.
Now thousands of people online are honoring his sacrifice and sharing it to show that his act of kindness meant a lot more than just what Brandon Fuchs, the 9-year old who got help, could imagine.

The fifth version of Grand Theft Auto was created by Rockstar Games and came out in mid-September 2013 on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. There hasn't been a main entry since 2008 with Grand Theft Auto IV and this is the 15th title in the series. Since this is most likely the last Grand Theft Auto game for these game consoles, it was a highly awaited game release.
And of course we love it because there's a tank! Yeah!
Are you ready to have some fun?

The True Story Surrounding This Peaceful Photo
On my wedding day, minutes before the ceremony, the most awaited and precious moment of my life, I was in the dressing room with my bridesmaids waiting for the rite to begin. We were so happy and excited. We were checking every detail of the wedding, what needs to be done in the last minute. Giggle and excitement filled the room when my soon to be mother in law came and called me.
I was so tense and nervous and ask her if the ceremony will start. I was so conscious but I said to myself this is the most excited moment every woman is dreaming of, to walk down the aisle while her groom is waiting at the altar. I was full of anticipation and excitement. Do I look pretty and gorgeous? Does my gown fit me well? My hair, my shoes, everything about me, will he be excited and look at me with adoration and admiration? These expectations made my heart pound at an incredibly fast beat. She lovingly pulled my hand and brought me to her son.
To my surprise my groom was silently waiting in one corner of the room and gently grasped my hand. I broke the silence and told him that wedding is about to begin and finally we will be husband and wife. He said that he knew and he whispered that he wanted to offer a short prayer as we held our hands. In that very moment of our prayer, quietness and solitude filled our hearts in the midst of festive sounds, activities and laughter. As he was whispering prayers about our wedding and the life ahead of us, we felt and experienced the amazing God's love between us. As he was reminiscing how we met, our sweet moments, our fights and quarrels, our indifferences and arguments, my tears began to flow and his voice was shaking. He continuously thanked the Lord Jesus Christ that he was able to protect and respect my purity. He asked the Lord for guidance in our new journey. He asked the Lord to bless us and be the center of our lives. No one and no circumstances will ever separate us neither sickness, poverty not even if we fail each other because our love does not depend only with what we feel but our love comes from the Lord. We are willing to forgive each other flaws and shortcomings. As he ended our prayers, my face was washed with tears, tears of joy and gratefulness.
My bridesmaids needed to retouch and blush me up again. As I looked and gazed in the mirror, I thanked God and my prince charming that in that very moment I am pure as white, my wedding gown signifies purity. Now I am confident and ready to walk down the aisle and meet my groom; what a wonderful and awesome feeling. Walking down the aisle is something I cannot express, beyond my wildest dream. I felt so beautiful that time and I could not help but smile, a smile from my heart with gladness and assurance that I will meet my groom in the altar and be his forever. We will declare our pledge of love in front of many witnesses.
My husband is not only my Prince Charming nor my "Knight in shining armor" because of his good countenance and his sense of humor but because of his will to preserve my treasure, my purity. His ability and determination to protect me is not his own by God's gift to him, to us. We are just human, vulnerable and weak; we were tempted but God is our defense. Our righteousness is God's righteousness and with His mercy and grace, my husband and I were able to protect my purity until our first night, our "honeymoon".
It was not an easy task or endeavor to refrain from rampant doings among what we call "lovers". We also fought and battled against the flesh and its lust but we are constantly reminded of God's Word and His Will. Thank God for His unfailing love.
The moment we prayed before our wedding ceremony was captured in camera that's why I am sharing you our great love story that brought us together as "one". I am not bragging about how we are peculiar and unique but I want to inspire both young men and women that there is God who is able to protect and guide your relationship. It is not impossible to have a pure and clean relationship, not in our own strength and will but by God's righteousness and defense. We need to wrestle against our own will and lust and God will help and give us victory.
This photo has already inspired many people and may God continually use this candid shot to motivate and encourage people in all walks of life that there is still a groom and his bride which remains pure and white until the holy matrimony. Nothing is impossible with God. We bring all the Glory and Praises to our Lord Jesus Christ.

According to Boeing, the company has recently retrofitted fighter jets that have since been retired and transformed them into drones. Last week an F-16 that was stored for 15 years in an Arizona facility flew last week with the cockpit empty. The Lockheed Martin aircraft was controlled from the ground by two pilots of the US Air Force. The drone took off from a base located in Florida and flew over the Gulf of Mexico at 40,000 feet (12.2kilometers). The retrofitted jet reached Mach 1.47 or 1,800km/h (1,119mph).
Boeing said that this innovative approach could one day be used in pilot training particularly when they are provided a target for firing practice. This F-16 is not the first former fighter plane to be re-commissioned as a drone. An F-4 Phantom was used for target practice by the American Air Force in the past.

The USS Arizona that sank and still lies on the ocean floor of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, now called the Arizona Memorial is still leaking oil. Pictures taken and investigation by the History Channel indicate that the ship memorial, "Continues to spill up to 9 quarts of oil into the harbor each day." It sounds impossible as the ship was attacked on 7 December, 1941 by the Japanese.
Visitors are able to actually walk on a memorial built over the sunken ship and see with their own eyes the actual ship and leaking oil. It's been said that," When the last drop of oil comes up from this mighty ship, that the last of the WWII veterans will have passed."
Bless all who have given lives in this war and are still standing watch, God Bless the USA.

Sgt. Paul Cusack, an Army Ranger at Joint Lewis-McChord gets a medal for valor and bravery outside his service in battlefield. But still his experience last April was similar to a war zone.
During the marathon held in Boston, about at the finish line, two pressure- cooler bombs exploded and rocked the crowd. Suddenly the street was jam-packed with wounded and injured people, some lost their body parts and were all shocked.
Sgt. Paul Cusack, with the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment had just reached the 26.2 mile race. With his instinct and readiness, he immediately ran toward the scene and helped the wounded and bombing incident victims instead of securing his own safety. He helped in giving the victims first aid and calming down the people and getting them out from the scene and bringing them to a safe place. "He worked and moved quickly as much as possible to save many lives" said Piek.
For his heroism, the Army will award Sgt. Cusack a Soldier's Medal at a ceremony at JBLM.

In a newly released film with Brad Pitt, a Second World War Tiger 131 tank is being used.
The tank was restored in a local museum for the actor Brad Pitt to use in the movie Fury. The tank is normally an exhibit at the museum, but is being used for this special occasion.
The director of the museum said that the tank was one of the German weapons that the allies were most afraid of. It is said that the tank could take out another enemy tank from almost a mile away.
"The tank was cleaned up so that the people could understand what a scary piece of equipment that this tank would have been during a fight", the curator said. "Finally the whole world will be able to see a real Tiger tank in a modern movie."

In the Second World War Dirk J. Vlug, and American soldier of the US Army left a path of destruction still to this day unequaled by his peers. His feat was almost unbelievable. On 15th of December, 1944, an ordinary private 1st class Dirk J. Vlug from one of the Infantry Regiments single-handedly demolished five enemy tanks. Here is how this incredible feat went down:
-He advanced without cover and came under enemy fire (37-mm machine gun). He was carrying a rocket launcher. He carried with him six rounds of ammunition.
- After loading up the rocket launcher, he put the first tank to waste. With just a single round the enemy tank was destroyed and all those poor souls inside were killed immediately.
-The crew of the second enemy tank started out to where he was stationed for his attack. He killed one by firing his pistol. The others headed back to the tank. With the second round, he shot at the tank and totally destroyed it.
-Three tanks rolled up to put end to the destruction. He flanked the first one that came. It was destroyed as well.
-Under heavy enemy fire he pressed on and destroyed one more enemy tank.
-He used his land round of ammunition to strike the last tank. It crashed onto a steep embankment and was destroyed.
To summarize, Vlug managed to singlehandedly annihilate five enemy tanks. He acted on his own to accomplish the mission that was assigned to his whole battalion.
One year later, on 26th of June, 1946, Dirk John Vlug was presented the prestigious Medal of Honor.
Dirk John Vlug died a hero in 1996. Rest in Peace.
Do you have any heroic story that can top this one?

The gold medal of Honor is hanging around this soldier's neck, but you can see the prosthetic in his hand that catches your attention.
The hand is able to hold a glass or shake someone's hand, just like the one that a ranger used last week to shake President Obama's hand as he became the 2nd living veteran since the sixties to be awarded the highest honor offered by our nation.
These hand movements are all controlled by a motion sensor that is connected to the brain and allows the user to do many normal actions.
When he needs to, the soldier can change his hand to suit different circumstances. When he's doing some work in the kitchen he can take off the hand part and put a knife blade on his arm so that he can prepare food easily for his family.
When he's out with his friends golfing he can attach another special device that helps him hold the golf club correctly so he can swing just as well as the other players.
"I'm not the best player in the world, but I have a good time" the soldier said in a meeting with the press. "I'm able to really relax and have a fun time. Plus I've met a lot of fantastic people doing it."
The soldier lost his hand when he was trying to grab a hand grenade and throw it in another direction. By doing that he saved the lives of two fellow soldiers and was awarded a medal at the White House.
When he was a child he always saw the medal as something that would be an honor to be awarded. However, when he won it he felt completely overwhelmed because of all the attention he was receiving.
Over the last week he travelled all around, including visit to Ground Zero, and also waving to fans at a baseball game in New York.
But it is his new hand that has gotten the most looks, showing some of the improvements in military technology that are letting more injured veterans to serve on after injury in the military.
"I just want to say that your hand is pretty awesome before we get into the show," said a famous show host before he began an interview with the soldier.
The soldier stated his experience with the advances in military medicine came when he was first in a hospital for burn victims and amputees.
"When I walked around the place I was amazed. I couldn't even tell the difference when I saw a guy with a fake leg when he had pants on," the soldier said. "I was amazed. The technology has come so far that there's nothing that they can't do."
He also has been brought down to earth by the "great moods" of other soldiers with medical problems much worse than his. In his current job he helps injured military personnel from all areas and their families.
He gives advice to soldiers and also assists families set up transport, meals and a place to stay.
But he, even after being injured, wanted to go back to serve. Earlier this year he went back to the Middle East for his 8th tour in a war zone.
"Over the past couple of years I've been seeing the other men training, and it's fantastic to finally be back and serving again," he said.
"The most difficult thing about this was having my wife understand why I wanted to go back. She said that I had already lost so much, why would I want to go back?"
The soldier said to her that his risk isn't any more than the other soldiers already over there serving.
She responded by saying that she knew it was important for him and that he should be with his men.

Chiefly the Pershing tank was used by the U.S. Military during the Second World War. It was originally developed and considered as heavy tank T26 but after the war this was reclassified as medium, M26. The tank was named after General John J. Pershing who was the commander of the American Expeditionary Force in Europe during World War I. The Pershing was also used in the last stage of World War I and in Korean War. The M26 Pershing tank was the evolution of M4 Sherman. It was rarely seen in fighting scene but the most remarkable fight was in the Bridge at Remagen when it was used by the 9th Armored Division. In its strategic aspects in combating and fighting compared with M4 Sherman it was good defense weapon against the enemies against both the Tiger II and panther tanks. Even though, the M26 Pershing tank was not mechanically consistent and strong, it was superior match with T-34-85. It was obvious when it was pulled out in 1951 during the Korean War and replaced with more developed and upgraded container M46 Patton which has more powerful and reliable engine that can climb on mountainous terrain and move speedily on rocky roads. The innovation and improvement of M26 was continued with the M47 Patton followed by new design M48 Patton and M60 Combat Tank.

"The Star Spangled Banner" was awaited on by crowds at Fenway Park, Boston, as the National Anthem is always expected to be sung at American baseball games. But on this night, James Taylor opened his vocal chords and blurted out "America the Beautiful". Though he is not the first or last celebrity to err in this platform, his excuse was well taken as he was scheduled to sing there later that night during the seventh inning stretch.

At the Army Aviation Symposium held in Arlington, Virginia last week, one officer of the US Army made an announcement. He said that the Army intends to adopt robots in the future as it tapers down on personnel. The biggest surprise about this statement is the magnitude of the downscaling of personnel.
By the year 2019, the US Army intends to attain these numbers: 540,000 personnel to 420,000 personnel.
Gen. Robert Cone, the head of the Training & Doctrine Command of the US Army gave a few more details regarding this plan. He added that the Army is looking to reduce the number of soldiers from 4,000 to about 3,000. He added that to keep the efficiency of operations more robots will be added.

The Boot Monument in Saratoga National Historical Park in New York is an American Revolutionary War Memorial. This commemorative landmark was put up in honor of the services of an unnamed Major General in the Continental Army during the Battle of Saratoga.
Although this memorial does not honor anyone in particular, many of those who are familiar with American history know that the officer given the honor is Benedict Arnold. He was an American general during the American Revolutionary War who eventually defected to the British Army. The reason why Benedict Arnold's name is not openly mentioned is that he has become infamous as a traitor to the American people.
In the Battle of Saratoga, the Continental Army won over the British Army and his great contribution to this battle won him the admiration of the people who erected the monument in his honor. During the battle Arnold got wounded in the leg near the site where the monument can now be found. The Battle of Saratoga was his last battle. It ended his career.
After his treachery became known to everyone, Arnold became the subject of spite. Benjamin Franklin wrote this about Arnold: "Judas sold only one man, Arnold millions."
What do you think about this traitor?
