Two of the biggest graveyards for tanks are in Afghanistan. Where did they come from? These "dead tanks" came about from the conflict with the Soviet Union that started in 1979 and didn't finish until the end of the 1980s. One of these graveyards is on the outskirts of Kabul and has a giant array of broken armored vehicles that the Soviets left behind when they left Afghanistan. It's quite a site as the vehicles are corroding and covered in graffiti, and they are a constant reminder of the war that plagued the lands for so long and took so many lives.
