This Nazi heavy tank built in 1942 which was used during World War 2 was called Tiger I. The ultimate formal German name was Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf.E, oftentimes called Tiger for short. It was a response to a remarkable T-34 and the KV-1 which were part of the Soviet armor during the first months of encounter prior to the invasion of Soviet Union. Tiger was developed to counter and combat Soviet armors. The design of Tiger I provided The Wehrmacht (refers to the German armed forces of WW II) their first tank mounting the 88 mm gun in its first version called the KwK 36. This gun was the primary weapon of Tiger I. It also showed its high effectiveness both on air and ground targets. The Tiger I was the combat fighting tank used during World War II on all German battlefronts. It was proven to be strong and tough and generally positioned in independent tank battalions. Going after a tank can be a bigger feat than people think. Thanks to nowadays popular Anti Tank guided Missiles the military troops are able to do this much easier and improve the combat on the ground. With all the options available we should now rank which ones are in the top ten. There might not be an easy answer, but we've still created a ranking of which ones are most effective at taking out a tank.
This unbelievable video footage portrays the every day combat soldier life. Insane that he was able to record this on his helmet cam. The sign on his right glove says it all my friends. All I have is respect for our boys in green.
This undertaking has been going on since 2007. These futuristic monstrosities were developed as a lighter form of ground vehicles. These Future Combat Systems Manned Ground Vehicles, or MGV were based on vehicle chassis that was commonly tracked. It has 2 men crew instead of 4 and it has much lower profile than normal tanks. The project has been unfortunately superseded by Ground Combat Vehicle.
The gold medal of Honor is hanging around this soldier's neck, but you can see the prosthetic in his hand that catches your attention. The hand is able to hold a glass or shake someone's hand, just like the one that a ranger used last week to shake President Obama's hand as he became the 2nd living veteran since the sixties to be awarded the highest honor offered by our nation. These hand movements are all controlled by a motion sensor that is connected to the brain and allows the user to do many normal actions. When he needs to, the soldier can change his hand to suit different circumstances. When he's doing some work in the kitchen he can take off the hand part and put a knife blade on his arm so that he can prepare food easily for his family. When he's out with his friends golfing he can attach another special device that helps him hold the golf club correctly so he can swing just as well as the other players. "I'm not the best player in the world, but I have a good time" the soldier said in a meeting with the press. "I'm able to really relax and have a fun time. Plus I've met a lot of fantastic people doing it." The soldier lost his hand when he was trying to grab a hand grenade and throw it in another direction. By doing that he saved the lives of two fellow soldiers and was awarded a medal at the White House. When he was a child he always saw the medal as something that would be an honor to be awarded. However, when he won it he felt completely overwhelmed because of all the attention he was receiving. Over the last week he travelled all around, including visit to Ground Zero, and also waving to fans at a baseball game in New York. But it is his new hand that has gotten the most looks, showing some of the improvements in military technology that are letting more injured veterans to serve on after injury in the military. "I just want to say that your hand is pretty awesome before we get into the show," said a famous show host before he began an interview with the soldier. The soldier stated his experience with the advances in military medicine came when he was first in a hospital for burn victims and amputees. "When I walked around the place I was amazed. I couldn't even tell the difference when I saw a guy with a fake leg when he had pants on," the soldier said. "I was amazed. The technology has come so far that there's nothing that they can't do." He also has been brought down to earth by the "great moods" of other soldiers with medical problems much worse than his. In his current job he helps injured military personnel from all areas and their families. He gives advice to soldiers and also assists families set up transport, meals and a place to stay. But he, even after being injured, wanted to go back to serve. Earlier this year he went back to the Middle East for his 8th tour in a war zone. "Over the past couple of years I've been seeing the other men training, and it's fantastic to finally be back and serving again," he said. "The most difficult thing about this was having my wife understand why I wanted to go back. She said that I had already lost so much, why would I want to go back?" The soldier said to her that his risk isn't any more than the other soldiers already over there serving. She responded by saying that she knew it was important for him and that he should be with his men.
Chiefly the Pershing tank was used by the U.S. Military during the Second World War. It was originally developed and considered as heavy tank T26 but after the war this was reclassified as medium, M26. The tank was named after General John J. Pershing who was the commander of the American Expeditionary Force in Europe during World War I. The Pershing was also used in the last stage of World War I and in Korean War. The M26 Pershing tank was the evolution of M4 Sherman. It was rarely seen in fighting scene but the most remarkable fight was in the Bridge at Remagen when it was used by the 9th Armored Division. In its strategic aspects in combating and fighting compared with M4 Sherman it was good defense weapon against the enemies against both the Tiger II and panther tanks. Even though, the M26 Pershing tank was not mechanically consistent and strong, it was superior match with T-34-85. It was obvious when it was pulled out in 1951 during the Korean War and replaced with more developed and upgraded container M46 Patton which has more powerful and reliable engine that can climb on mountainous terrain and move speedily on rocky roads. The innovation and improvement of M26 was continued with the M47 Patton followed by new design M48 Patton and M60 Combat Tank.
The BMPT-72, or Terminator 2, is a new type of tank that is being made to support combat in Russia. It first came out in September of 2013 in an expo in Russian Nizhny Tagil. It has a guided shooting system that can take out tanks, infantry, and other objects from far away. I love it, don't you?
The General Atomics Avenger, formerly known as the Predator C is an unmanned combat air vehicle. This war machine is built for the US Military by the General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. This drone first took to the air in April 4, 2009. The Avenger is different from other drones like MQ-1 Predator and the MQ-9 Reaper (Predator B) because it has stealth features and a turbofan engine. The stealth features of this vehicle are: 1) S-shaped exhaust for lower heat and decreased radar signature, 2) internal weapons storage. This new Avenger drone is capable of carrying the Lynx aperture radar equipment and supporting MQ-9 weapons. It can also be fitted with the electro-optical targeting system (EOTS) similar to that of the F-35 Lightning II. This drone also has the ALERT (Advanced Low-observable Embedded Reconnaissance Targeting) system. The General Atomics Avenger requires similar ground supportive systems as the MQ-9 & MQ-1 models. The infrastructure, communications networks, and ground control center are no different.
