One of the largest tank battle since WWII was the battle of Chawinda during the conflict which took place between India and Pakistan in 1965. The sides were evenly matched with the Indians having 225 tanks and the Pakistanis having 282. The Indians had a goal of taking over a railway in order to cut Pakistan off from receiving supplies. The Indians were not able to achieve their goal as the Pakistanis got reinforcements from Kashmir. The UN ended up coming in, and in the end the Indians had taken two hundred square miles of Pakistani land.
