According to Boeing, the company has recently retrofitted fighter jets that have since been retired and transformed them into drones. Last week an F-16 that was stored for 15 years in an Arizona facility flew last week with the cockpit empty. The Lockheed Martin aircraft was controlled from the ground by two pilots of the US Air Force. The drone took off from a base located in Florida and flew over the Gulf of Mexico at 40,000 feet (12.2kilometers). The retrofitted jet reached Mach 1.47 or 1,800km/h (1,119mph). Boeing said that this innovative approach could one day be used in pilot training particularly when they are provided a target for firing practice. This F-16 is not the first former fighter plane to be re-commissioned as a drone. An F-4 Phantom was used for target practice by the American Air Force in the past.

Now that's entertainment, Amazon.com I will be testing delivery drones. The company called Prime Air is attempting to deliver packages as fast as possible through the use of small, unmanned aircraft. The new delivery system's goal is to have packages in customer's hands well under 30 minutes. Amazon's CEO's thought process is that if Prime Air can be put into commercial use it, though it could take "some number of years" to develop the technology and get (FAA) Federal Aviation Administration to create rules and regulations needed for the concept. Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, proudly shared these grand ideas on the CBS TV show, 60 Minutes on Sunday. He then played a video demonstration showing how the aircraft drones, referred to as, "Octocopters" pick up small sized packages. They sit in yellow buckets in Amazon's fulfillment centers and fly through the air to deliver it to online customers.

There is another Super Bowl ad that has touched our hearts, thanks to the beer company that has already sent us reeling. The ad entitled, "A Hero's Welcome," is all about Lt. Chuck Nadd, a 24-year old United States Army serviceman who has just come home from Afghanistan. This 60 second ad is rather simple. The plot is mainly about the homecoming welcome that the Lieutenant's hometown threw to surprise him. The party scenes were set to P. Diddy and Skylar Grey's fitting hit track, "Coming Home." According to the Washington Post, Lt. Nadd was an operations officer and Black Hawk helicopter pilot. The cameras that were following him were, in his belief, related to a documentary that was being made about soldiers. He also thought they would record him making a speech later at an event to be held at Winter Park, Fl. He was sent home one week and a half earlier that he was supposed to go, so he thought that the event was the reason for the early leave. At the airport, Lt. Nadd was welcomed home by Shannon Cantwell, his girlfriend. Cantwell was in Washington D.C. When Lt. Nadd arrived at Winter Park, he was in for the surprise of his life. He was greeted by hundreds of people including his family members, friends, neighbors, and former teachers. There was even a parade in his honor graced by the Clydesdale horses, the famous Budweiser icons. At the end of the ad, Lt. Nadd and his mother who came all the way from Alabama can be seen hugging. Another Budweiser ad tugged at our hearts earlier in the week with "Puppy Love." This one is about a dog that was separated from its home. The ad was released previously this week.
